CAMP BROADWAY CANADA

April 2008: It is with great disappointment that we had to cancel this summer’s Camp Broadway in Toronto. Although we had great response from those who attended last year and certainly word of mouth was exceptional, we did not secure the theatre community support we needed in order to move forward. However, we will start plans for Camp Broadway Canada 2009 and anticipate a relaunch of this very special program.

Dear Camp Broadway Fan:

New York’s Camp Broadway is making its way back to Toronto this coming July 7 – 11, 2008, at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts.

Camp Broadway offers the true Broadway experience to enthusiastic campers who love musical theatre. Last summer, in association with Stage Kids and J9 Communications, Camp Broadway brought its 12-year track record of success to Canada for the first time proving to be a major hit with campers and parents alike.

At Camp Broadway, campers age 10 – 17 work with Broadway directors, choreographers, music directors and teaching artists receiving training in voice, dance, and movement, along with solo and ensemble singing. Together they rehearse dialogue, musical numbers and dance routines for the grand finale Broadway musical of the week.

As part of their Camp Broadway weeklong experience campers will see a local musical production, tour backstage, and learn a few life lessons in collaboration, creativity, discipline and commitment – all the while becoming completely immersed in the definitive theatrical experience. This July 7 – 11 don’t miss out on all the fun! This is it….this is Broadway!

Camp Broadway includes five jam-packed days of classes, a ticket to a local Broadway show, a Camp Broadway T-shirt and a finale performance for family and friends.
