- Major star power currently on stage at the Walter Kerr Theatre with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury starring in the most recent revival of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music.
- Even after rave reviews for the revival of Ragtime the musical struggled at the box office, thus resulting the show closing after 60 performances on New Year’s weekend.
- The Stratford 2008 hit Krapp’s Last Tape is currently enjoying a run at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre with the productions original director Jennifer Tarver and star Brian Dennehy on board. This is in advance of its much-anticipated Broadway run this spring.
- Toronto’s Mirvish Productions looks to be mounting a Canadian production of the Tony-award winning play God of Carnage for its 2011 season.
- A new musical based on the movie Catch Me If You Can may make a Toronto appearance this year prior to heading to New York.
- The Toronto run of Fiddler on the Roof starring Harvey Fierstein was such a hit, five sold out weeks…they’re bringing him back for a repeat engagement June 8 – 13 at the Canon Theatre.
- Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley recently made her London stage debut in revival of Moliere’s The Misanthrope. Reviews have been mixed, however I’m sure audiences will come out for the limited run which closes March 13.
