British actor Edward Woodward may best be known in North America for his role in the television series The Equalizer, however his career began in 1946 onstage and continued for 50 years. He played Shakespearean roles and had a memorable tenor singing voice recording numerous albums. His Broadway credits included Noel Coward’s play Blithe Spirit where Mr. Coward directed him. Woodward died November 16 at the age of 79.
